The ASKL was established in 1989. The league was formed to give competitors the opportunity to showcase his/her talents and provide a forum for rewarding athletes for their dedication and hard work. The number of ASKL rated tournaments has increased annually and reached 30 in 2007. The notation 'ASKL Rated' appears on all ASKL sanctioned tournament flyers. All ASKL members who place first, second, third, or fourth at ASKL rated tournaments receive ASKL points. Mr. Young encourages competitors to enter as many tournaments as possible so he/she can be rated throughout the year.
